Funeral services for Noland Dickey, 87, of Mannford will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in Mannford, Oklahoma with Pastor Joe Taylor officiating.'  Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Noland Roscoe Dickey was born on October 21, 1922 in Iceledo, Arkansas.'  He was the son of William Bryan and Mary Eunice (Sissom) Dickey.'  As a young child Noland grew up in Arkansas and later moved with his family to Southeastern Oklahoma. They later relocated in the Mannford Area where he finished his education.'  At the completion of his education Noland began helping his father on the farm to support his family.'  On May 30, 1945, Noland joined the United States Army in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.'  Then later on December 14, 1946, Noland was honorably discharged in California.'  He soon returned to Oklahoma and was united in marriage to Pamelia Elizabeth (Chapman) on September 30, 1948.'  The couple established their initial home at Ft. Supply, Oklahoma and Noland accepted a position with the Corps of Engineers.'  Noland and Pamelia remained in Western Oklahoma until 1951.'  At that time they moved to Sand Springs where Noland accepted a position with National Tank.'  Noland continued to work there for almost 10 years when he moved to Oregon.'  He then began working at a local saw mill with his brother.'  In 1964, Noland returned back to the Mannford area where he accepted employment with Carol Huff. Noland has worked in several local welding shops and worked for Smalling Engineering for nearly 10 years when he retried in 1990.'  Noland enjoyed being outdoors.'  He also enjoyed working in his garden as well as playing his guitar and singing country music.'  He felt that working puzzles, reading periodicals and keeping busy was an essential part of life.'  One thing about Noland was that he enjoyed taking rides in the car.'  He also enjoyed taking vacations which would always include long trips in the car.'  He was a former member of the VFW as well as a current member of the First Baptist Church in Mannford. Noland passed from this life on Saturday, May 22, 2010 in Mannford, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years. Survivors are his wife, Pamelia of the home; two daughters, Kathleen Dickey of Houston, Texas, Margaret and her husband, Roger Cotrofeld of Austin, Texas; two sons Wesley and his wife, Pamela Dickey of Clermont, Florida, Walter and his wife, Shannon Dickey of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; two sisters, Rheba Moss of Buffalo, Missouri, Ruby Stegall of Hallett, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren Elizabeth, Mecholah, Trey and Ben Cotrofeld, Michael, David, Caleb and Samuel Dickey as well as a host of other relatives and friends.'  He was preceded in death by his father William Bryan Dickey, mother Mary Eunice Norwood and two brothers David Haskell Dickey and Noel Dickey.
