Nila Elaine Othoudt, Cleveland resident since 1974, passed away on Monday, Decmeber 22, 2003 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of sixty-six years, seven months and eighteen days.

Nila wa born May 4, 1935 in Buffalo, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Joseph and Francis Olson. Nila was raised in the Buffalo area and attended school there.
Nila was maried to Clayton Othoudt on March 10, 1951 in Monticello, Minnesota. The couple made their intital home there and had four children, Vicky, Thomas, Russell and Terry.

The couple moved their family to Cleveland in 1974. Nila worked for many years in a sewing factory and then later worked at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home as a nurse's aide for several years. Clayton preceded her in death on August 25, 1998. In addition to her husband, Nila was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Vicky Othoudt; two sisters, Caroline Weaver and Vernetta Wynn; a son, Tom Othoudt; and a nephew, Rick Weaver.

Nila is survived by two sons, Russell Othoudt of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Terry Joe and his wife, Linda Othoudt of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Sherry and Bill Glenn of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Brian Othoudt of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dennis Nordby of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dusty Nordby and Sonya of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Chad Othoudt and his finacee, Kristie of Misslinburg, Pennsylvania, Tina and Tony Bielefeld of Zimmerman, Minnesota and Kimberly Othoudt; thirteen great grandchildren; three brothers, Loren and wife, Paula Olson of Phoeniz, Arizona, Melton and wife Sharon Olson of St. Michael, Minnesota, and Milo and wife, Marty Olson of Monticello, Minnesota; and two sisters, Leona Erickson and Mel Johnson, both of Phoeniz, Arizona.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 27, 2003 at the Dixie Bear Creek Cemetery, south of Cleveland, with Dick Rush officiating. Burial will be at the Dixie Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
