Neil Glen Mcfarland

Neil Glen McFarland, a resident of Hominy passed away January 15, 2006 at his home in Hominy, Oklahoma at the age of 62 years 2 months and 5 days. Neil was born November 10, 1943 he was the son of Marvin McFarland and Florence (Peterson). As a young boy Neil grew up in the Tacoma, Washington area. After Neil, finished his education he joined the United States Navy on November 23, 1960. Neil served his country in the Philippine Islands during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged from active duty on November 9, 1964.

Upon his return to the United States Neil remained in the Washington area. In the mid 1970ís, Neil moved to Hominy, Oklahoma. At that time Neil began working with Pat Passmore remodeling residential property. Neil and Pat worked together until 1997. At that time in 1997, Neil accepted employment with Harker Construction in Keeling, Texas. Neil was a superintendent for Harker building Kentucky Fried Chicken, Sonic as well as other commercial properties throughout the US.

Neil had many things he loved to do in his spare time some of them include fishing, wood working but most of all visiting with his friends through out the day. Neil also loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, aunts, and uncles.

Surviving are his son Neil McFarland of Hominy, Oklahoma; one step son Chris Whitlock of Hominy, Oklahoma; one step daughter Lois Jermer of Ft. Knox, Kentucky; companion Rosa Evans of Hominy, Oklahoma; two brothers Gary McFarland of Tacoma, Washington; Mike McFarland of Tacoma, Washington; two sisters Patty Bettingfield of Auburn, Washington; Karla McFarland of Auburn, Washington; two grandchildren Alex and Luke as well as a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Edens of Cleveland, Oklahoma officiating. Following the services the body will be cremated under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
