Murphy Dean Hitt was found at his home in rural Hominy, Oklahoma on Monday, July 30, 2012, he was 60 years, two months and twenty four days old at his death. Murphy was born May 6, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas. He was the son of Leonard and Thelma Ruth (Black) Hitt. As a young man Murphy began his education in Wichita and later attended West High School. At the completion of his education Murphy worked several different jobs. He later learned the trade as a tile installer. Murphy worked as a tile installer for many years. Following his brother Al, Murphy moved to the Cleveland area known as Boston Pool where he has continued to reside. Murphy was recently referred to by his friends as ìa real pistol.î However, Murphy was a great friend and had a good heart. He liked to go fishing and ride his four wheeler around their property. Murphy also spent many hours watching the array of birds from his patio. Murphy liked to watch TV evangelists and reading the Bible. MurphyÃs last days on Earth were complicated due to his kidney failure and spending the last couple of years on home dialysis. Survivors are his mother Thelma Hitt of Hominy, Oklahoma, one sister Lynda Kay and Evan Burkett of Hartford, South Dakota and a host of other relatives and friends. Murphy was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Albert Hitt, one brother, Albert Hitt as well as a daughter Ashley Neises Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Gene Black officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will follow in the Boston Pool Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
