Monte Jefferson Starrett

Monte Jefferson Starrett was born June 30, 1962 in Hominy, Oklahoma. He was the son of Charlie West and Violet Vaunita Starrett. Monte was raised for the initial part of his life in Cleveland. He was later placed in Hissom Memorial Center in Sand Springs, Oklahoma for several years.

With the closure of Hissom, Monte moved to a group home in Cleveland for a few years before moving to another group home in Sapulpa. Monte enjoyed the company of his friends and caretakers. He passed away at his home in Sapulpa on Friday, January 17, 2003 at the age of forty-years, six months and seventeen days. He was preceded in death by his father and devoted mother, Violet.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Willis Morgan officiating. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
