Mitchell Price, III of Drumright, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, March 17, 2008 in Drumright, Oklahoma at the age 54 years.
Mitch was born November 26, 1953 in Cushing, Oklahoma the son of Mitchell, II and Anna Lee (Chesnut) Price. Mitch attended school in Ponca City where he later graduated with the Class of 1972. During his time in high school Mitch was active on the football team and enjoyed racing cars. Soon after Mitch graduated he joined the U.S. Army and was later discharged on December 9, 1974. Upon his return from the military he worked at Benton Casing from 1977 till 1985. Mitch then began a career in car sales when he moved to Oklahoma City working for Lynn Hickey Dodge. Mitch was the number one salesman many times before accepting a position as the manager for the Hallett Race Track. Mitch continued working at the race track until he retired due to injuries received while working at the race track. On June 9, 1988, Mitch was united in marriage to Debra Lynn Grigg.
Mitch was an avid Oklahoma University fan. He also loved cars; dating back to the time he got his first go-cart making a race track in his yard as a child. Mitch was a NASCAR fan and was very envious of his son who was able to go and get a first hand experience of a live race.
Survivors are his loving wife Debra of Drumright, Oklahoma; Brandy Harper and her husband Les of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Mitchell Price, IV and fiance Caitlin of Beaumont, Texas; Lacie Price of the home, Anna Price of the home, step daughter Shawna Peelman and her husband Wane of Oilton, Oklahoma; step son Scott Barber and his wife Rebecca of Skiatook, Oklahoma; mother Anna Lee Salisbury and step father Gene of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; brother Mike Price and fiance Karen Mikesell of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; two step brothers Tom Salisbury of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Jim Salisbury of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, one step sister Sandy Linton of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Mitch was preceded in death by his father Mitchell Price, II and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, March 21, 2008 at the Terlton Cemetery with Keven Grigg officiating. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland.
