Mildred Birdine (Gann) (Tucker) Friend of Osage, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 6:58 am She was born March 19, 1922 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Birdine was the daughter of Robert and Mary Elizabeth (Cottrell) Gann. She and Paul Tucker were married September 20, 1937 at Claremore, Oklahoma. They resided in Ramona until he preceded her in death on March 14, 1961. She was later married to Clifford L. Friend on March 17, 1962 at Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They enjoyed forty-eight years together. Birdine worked at the Bartlesville Jane Phillips Hospital many years in housekeeping, at Collinsville Nursing Home as a nurse's aide, and for Tulsa Public Schools, retiring in 1986. Survivors include her husband, Clifford of the home; two daughters, Pauline Sutterfield of Osage, Oklahoma, Barbara Weaver and husband, Wayne of Owasso, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Teresa Parks and Deborah Sanders, both of Osage, and Mark Priest of Dewey, Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren; ten great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Paul Tucker, Birdine was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, five brothers and five sisters. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Ramona Cemetery in Ramona, Oklahoma with Rev. David Head. Interment will be under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home or online at www.chapman-black.com
