Mike Burgess

Funeral services for Mike Burgess of Terlton, Oklahoma will be held Wednesday February 16, 2004 at 10:00 am in the Terlton Baptist Church with services officiated by Willis Morgan. Burial will be in the Terlton Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.

John Michael Burgess was born December 13, 1958 in Farmington, New Mexico to Kermit Gaylord and Shirlea Joan (Weston) Burgess. As a young child the family moved to Terlton where he was raised and received his education. Soon after Mike finished his education he began working with his father Gaylord installing siding. Mike continued to install siding for many years. He later began working for Cleveland X Ray. During his time working for Cleveland X Ray he traveled to Colorado and Wyoming. Mike then began driving a truck over the road for Arrow Trucking. He also worked for Werner Enterprises, Schneider National and lastly for J.B. Hunt.

Mike loved to fish, be in the outdoors, wood working. He was also an avid NASCAR and OU Fan. Mike was also a member of the Wayside Chapel in Terlton. The love of his life is his daughter Jennifer and grandson Tristan.

Mike passed away Sunday February 13, 2005 at the age of 46 years 2 months. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shilea Joan Burgess as well as a sister Gayla Jo Burgess.

Survived by his daughter, Jennifer and her husband Jochen Schmausser of Tulsa, Oklahoma; father, Gaylord Burgess of Mannford, Oklahoma; sister, Shirlynn and her husband Samuel Latham of Mannford, Oklahoma; one grandson, Tristan Schmausser his pet Scrubby and numerous other relatives and friends
