Michael Wayne Collins, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed from this life at the age 39 years on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.
Michael was born July 27, 1977, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of David Wayne and Anita Marie (Boyd) Collins. Michael began his education in Cleveland and later graduated with the Class of 1996. During his time in school, he was very active in football, wrestling, and track. Michael also furthered his education at Drumright Vo-Tech in robotics and telecommunications. Soon after high school, Michael gained employment with WorldCom. He worked there until 2005 and later transferred to LanLynx for a couple of years. Then he accepted a position with SecureDyne Systems where he worked until he became disabled with Multiple Sclerosis in 2014.
Michael was a wonderful person and loved being around others. He always had a genuine smile that would light up a room. Michael enjoyed going fishing, shooting and watching “Wheel of Fortune.” While watching Wheel of Fortune, it has always been a competition for who could solve the puzzle first. Michael always wanted to move and live up north, and he always enjoyed the times he went to Montana and Colorado on vacations. Michael had a very witty and funny personality.
Survivors are his daughter Kyleigh Collins of the home, fiancé Brandy Nunley of the home, father Dave of the home, paternal grandmother Sue Collins of Weleetka, Oklahoma; three siblings Misti Collier of Marshall, Arkansas, Brady Collier of Marshall, Arkansas, Allison Poole and her husband Carter of Collinsville, Oklahoma; as well as Emily Randell, Brittany Nunley, Ashley Nunley, lifelong friend Danny Smith of Cleveland, Oklahoma, his dog Koda Grace and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather, and mother Anita.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Monday at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com
