Michael Clewien

Michael Otto Clewien Sr., 67, passed from this life Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Cleveland Area Hospital. Born in Hominy, Oklahoma, he was raised in Cleveland Oklahoma. Michael was the son of Raymond E. and Lorena Maude (Adams) Clewien. As a young child going to New Mexico each summer and helping his brother Raymond on the ranch was something he enjoyed. Mike always commented that Raymond had the greatest effect on his life. During high school, he worked at the Westport Country Club, and also played football. Michael graduated from Cleveland High School with the Class of 1969.

Diane Vandever joined Michael in marriage on December 19, 1979, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma making Cleveland their home. Michael worked at the Port DX in Cleveland as a boat mechanic. During this time Mike was able to haul boats from far places problably making him realize transporation would be his life. Mike later began working for SunRay DX in Tulsa until April 1, 1993. At that time Mike accepted employment for Acord Transportation, he has been employed there for over 25 years.

Michael enjoyed boating and camping. The most fun Michael had was pulling in “the big one” while fishing. Diane and Michael enjoyed going to Dripping Springs at Lake Okmulgee where they would take their fifth wheel trailer. They were members of Wayside Church in Terlton. Old country and rock-n-roll was the music he enjoyed listening to. Being around his family, friends and especially his grandchildren were some of his greatest memories and enjoyment.

Survivors are his wife Dianne of the home, five children Michael Clewien, Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee, Clay Clewien and his wife Leslie of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Les Lieurance and his wife Debbie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Brandy Lieurance of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Keisha Wynn and her husband Mark of Hominy, Oklahoma; one brother Ed Clewien of Mannford, Oklahoma; one sister Mary Wardlow of Rio Verde, Arizona; thirteen grandchildren Sadie, Caleb, Jeremy, Kristian, Jessica, Trenton, Cali, Koltan, Kyndal, Kaedan, Trace, Alyssa, Karsen and six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by one brother Raymond, Jr and one sister Barbara Searle

Visitation will be held from Michael on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 10am-2pm and on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 1-6pm at Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Services will be held Monday, October 29, 2018 at 2pm in the Assembly of God Church in Cleveland, Oklahoma with Willis Morgan officiating.
