Michael Andrew Ready

Michael Andrew Ready was born October 20, 1972 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of Earl Thomas Ready, Jr. and Shirlee Ann Mills. Mike was raised and attended school in Oilton. While attending Oilton schools, Mike was active in baseball and football, participated in Little League Baseball and American Legion Baseball; and in 1990 was member of the Oilton team which made it to the State Playoffs in baseball. Mike developed a love for horses and rodeos at an early age and took up saddle bronc riding in 1989.

Upon completion of his education, Mike accepted employment with Piping Engineering for his first job. He later worked as a oilfield roustabout, for Larry Campbell in the water well drilling business for several years, for Mullin Plumbing in Tulsa for a while. He later worked for his father, Tom in Colorado assisting in the remodeling of an apartment complex. Mike, most recently, was working for Kansas Construction Company. He was married to Kimberlyn Joy Blakely on February 7, 2000 in Colorado.

Mike enjoyed spending time with his family fishing and at cookouts, taking care of his nieces and nephews, and loved music; he especially loved karaoke. He passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2006 as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident near Drumright at the age of thirty-three years and seven months. He was preceded in death by his father, a son and daughter, Wyatt and Madison Ready, maternal grandmother, Helen Gilbert, paternal great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ready and Charles Dennison.

Michael is survived by his wife, Kim Ready, Oilton, Oklahoma; step son, Jeremy Sisco, Stillwater, Oklahoma; mother, Shirlee Mills, Oilton, Oklahoma; five bothers, Rodney Mills, Coweta, Oklahoma, Waide Ready, Terlton, Oklahoma, Seth Ready, Denver, Colorado, Dustin Mills, Oilton, Oklahoma and Kihekah Ready, Denver, Colorado; paternal grandparents, Earl and Charlene Ready, Cleveland, Oklahoma; maternal grandfather, James Gilbert, Terlton, Oklahoma; paternal great grandmother, Marguerite Pease Dennison, Cleveland, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, Dalton, Haley, Waide Jr., Kensey, Keirsten, Kalli, Garret, Abby, Gus, Tandra, and Maggie.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Oilton with Bro. Roy Bingham and Pastor Ryan Humble officiating. Burial will be at the Terlton Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
