Maxine Tullis, a resident of Hominy, passed away Thursday, April 28, 205 at her home in Hominy at the age of seventy-one years, eight months and thirteen days.
Maxine was born August 15, 1933 in Hominy, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Michael Don and Stella Ramsey. She was raised and attended school in Hominy, graduating from Hominy High School in 1951.
Maxine was married to Cecil Edward Tullis on June 15, 1959 in Chandler, Oklahoma. The couple made their initial home in Stroud and then later moved to Hennessey. In 1962, the couple returned to Hominy and established their home. Maxine worked for the next several years at the Munsingwear Plant in Hominy.
Maxine was a member of the Calvary Worship Church in Hominy. She loved the outdoors and spent countless hours taking care of her yard which was filled with lovely plants and flowers. She was a devoted wife and homemaker throughout her nearly forty-six years of marriage to Cecil.
Maxine is survived by her husband, Cecil Tullis, of the home; three sisters, Pauline Johnson of Hominy, Oklahoma, Zelma Hindman of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Janis Watkins of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; and a brother, Michael Ramsey of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 2, 2005 at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery with Kenny Christian officiating. Musical selections will be perfored my Sonie Brown and burial will be under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home, in Cleveland.
