Matina Ann Shaw, longtime Hominy resident passed away on March 27, 2014, at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of fifty-seven years. Matina was born in Graham, Young County, Texas on February 8, 1957. She was the daughter of Gordon and Margaret (Beach) Yenzer. Matina moved frequently with her family throughout Texas in her early years and then settled in Hominy in 1963 when she was in the sixth grade. Upon completion of her education, Matina worked for the State of Oklahoma as a home heath nurse, practicing in the Hominy, Osage County area. She was married to Lee Shaw on June 23, 1977 and the couple established their home in Hominy, raising three children, Christopher, Ronald, and Mary Ann. During her childrenÃs childhood, Matina was extremely active in her childrenÃs education in the Hominy schools. In 1988, Matina accepted a position with Walmart in Cleveland and worked there for nearly twenty-four years, retiring as a department manager in July of 2013. Matina loved gardening and spent countless hours landscaping and tending to her flowers in her yard. Lee and Matina enjoyed motorcycling and took many trips with friends including a memorable trip to the Royal Gorge area of Colorado. They were member of the Gold Wing RiderÃs Association. She had a large collection of movies including both VCR and DVDÃs; particularly enjoyed romantic comedies. Additionally, she loved taking shopping trips with her friends. Matina is survived by her husband of thirty-six years, Lee of the home; mother, Margaret LaZelle of Yukon, Oklahoma; two sons, Christopher Lee and Lesa Stewart of Blanchard, Oklahoma; Ronald Lee Shaw and wife, Tara of Wynona, Oklahoma; daughter and her husband, Mary Ann and Scott Rainbolt of Jenks, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Kalob Stewart, Riley Shaw, Samuel Shaw, Eli Shaw, Parker Rainbolt, Allanah Rainbolt and Harley Stewart; brother, Gordon and Lynn Yenzer of Yukon, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Claudia Gillentine of Lawrence, Kansas and Jackie Morley of Mineral Wells, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Wendal Yenzer, as well as a host of other relatives and friends that mourn her passing. Cremation was entrusted to Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Hominy on Monday, March 31, 2014, 11:00 AM.
