Matilda Jane Coon, 78, of Hominy, Oklahoma passed from this life on May 14, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Jane was born on March 8, 1941, in Perkins, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Stewart and Tina (Cole) Blackwell. Jane was raised and received her education in Perkins and graduated from Perkins High School with the Class of 1959. Following graduation Jane was united in marriage to David Coon in 1959. Jane has resided in Barnsdall, Fairfax, Perkins and moved to Hominy, Oklahoma in 1973, where she raised her children. Jane worked at the Tulsa Boys home for many years.
Jane was an avid Oklahoma City Thunder Fan. She also enjoyed watching tennis or any sport that her children or grandchildren were involved in. Jane loved to cook, Thanksgiving and Christmas were always big events with her cooking. She would spend several days preparing for the events. Her children describe her as the “best mom in the world.”
Survivors include her five children Tommy Coon of Hominy, Oklahoma, Jerye Lunn of Hominy, Oklahoma, Edward Coon of Hominy, Oklahoma, James R. Coon and his wife Tammy of Hominy, Oklahoma, David Coon of Hominy, Oklahoma, one brother Walter Blackwell and his wife Ruby of Eufaula, Oklahoma, ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her two brothers, one sister and one great grandchild.
