Mary Louise King, 56, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at her home in Mannford, Oklahoma.

Mary was born September 1, 1961, in Downey, California. She is the daughter of William Louis Hyatt and Emily Louise (Canavan) Crowley. Mary began her education in Downey later graduating with the Class of 1979. During her time in high school, Mary was an active part of the cheerleading team. Following graduation, Mary moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma and during her time working at Dari Diner she met Rick King. The two was united in marriage and established their initial home in Cleveland. They later moved to Hallett in the mid-1980’s, where they raised their four children. Following the death of Rick, Mary returned to work. For several years she worked at Hallett Grocery and EZ Mart in Cleveland as well as Wal-Mart. Mary later returned to further her education and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Medical Coding from Community Care College. Following that she began working in the medical field as a medical coder and billing clerk. She later accepted employment at St. John Medical Center and been currently working there for the past several years. In 2013, Mary moved from Tulsa to her current home in Mannford, Oklahoma.

Her life revolved around her grandchildren. They were one of the most important parts of her life. She loved Sunday’s, so she could watch NASCAR and was always pulling for her favorites Dale Sr. and Jr. Cooking out, and family swimming get-togethers was also a significant part of her life. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and worked tirelessly as her children were growing up providing for them as a single mom. She knew that teaching them and providing for them was the most crucial part any parent could do. Mary also looked forward to the yearly event of going to the Rocky Horror Picture Show when it came to town. She also enjoyed reading, and her favorite author was Stephen King. Her favorite food was Bar-b-que and her famous homemade tacos.

Survivors are her four children Sambo King and his wife Alicia "Shaka" of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Stephen King of Mannford, Oklahoma, Carrie Crow and her husband Lance of Mannford, Oklahoma, Cassandra Ausbrook and her husband Dallas of Mannford, Oklahoma; mother Emily Crowley and her husband Clarence "Sonny" of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, father Bill Hyatt and his wife Billie of Hallett, Oklahoma; two brothers William Hyatt Jr. and his wife Sherry of Berryhill, Oklahoma, Eric Hyatt of Prattville, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren Cody, Darrell, Blaze, Kage, Rage, Alice, Max, Sebaschyn, Damien, Finnick, Snow as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Rick, one sister Sherry Shroyer and one brother Rob Cheek.

Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Pastor David Head officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in the Dixie-Bear Creek Cemetery.
