Mary Lou Carter a lifetime resident of Cleveland was born August 25, 1947 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to the parents of James Ralph and Nina Kathern (Bridge) Cummings. Mary was raised and received her education in Cleveland. While Mary was in school she participated in the school band. Mary was employed as a nurse in the surrounding area medical facilities in Cleveland, Pawnee and Mannford. She was employed last at Southwest Cupid until 1997 when medical conditions forced Mary to retire. Mary was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cleveland. She loved to crochet and embroidery in her spare time. One of MaryÃs fondest and special memories was when, ìshe and her three brothers and sister went to New Mexico where they had a lot of funî.
Mary passed away Friday, June 20, 2003 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 55 years 9 months and 25 days. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survived by her daughter, Karen and husband Kenny Cronister, of Osage, Oklahoma; brother Randolph and wife Laurie Cummings of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Ronald and wife Bobbie Cummings of Mannford, Oklahoma; Donald Cummings of Cleveland, Oklahoma; sister Patsy and husband Robert Cooper of Hallett, Oklahoma; grandchildren Michael and Kayla Cronister of Osage, Oklahoma as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 23, 2003 at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary of the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Dan Edens and Pastor Mark Scott officiating. Burial will be on the family plot at Dixie-Bear Creek Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
