Graveside services for Mary Kay Murnan will be held 2:00 pm Friday, February 15, 2013 at Westlawn Cemetery with Pastor David Logsdon officiating. Services are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Mary Kay passed away on Monday February 11, 2013 at the age of 64 years, three months and twenty eight days. She was born on October 14, 1948 in Henryetta, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of Ivan Leon and Mary (Davidson) Barber. As a teenager Mary Kay moved with her family from Seminole to Hominy in 1963. She later completed her high school education in Stillwater graduating with the Class of 1966. She was united in marriage to Emmett Marcum Jr. and the couple made their home in Hominy and to that union there is one child Brian. Mary Kay worked for the Rexall Drug and moved to Osage, Oklahoma. Following her divorce Mary Kay was united in marriage to Billy Wayne Murnan. Mary Kay moved to Cleveland in 1984, where she has continued to reside. Mary Kay has also worked at the Hominy Police Department, PBís Place as well as the Cleveland Walmart. Mary Kay was a care giver and was a very big part in taking care of her father and mother during their last days. Mary Kay enjoyed talking on the phone and shopping. She especially loved shopping for purses and would often buy one of every color. Mary Kay had a very pronounced sense of humor and loved to laugh. She enjoyed going to the KAMO pond and watching the ducks and geese. She was also an animal lover especially her Bassett hound who she called ìPitiful Pearlî. Mary Kay had a big heart for those in need especially those that are homeless. Mary Kay lived by the attitude of ìshe did the best with who she was and what she had in life.î Survivors are her son Brian Marcum of Tulsa, Oklahoma, sister Paula Mitts of Cleveland, Oklahoma; nephew Brent Adams of Elizabeth, Colorado, Kinsey Mitts of Owasso, Oklahoma, aunt Frieda Middleton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and several other friends and relatives. Mary Kay was preceded in death by her parents.
