Long-time Cleveland resident, Mary Etta Friend Davis passed from this life on July 31, 2021 @ Hartsworth Nursing Center, Vinita, OK. She was born in Terlton, OK on July 11, 1924, to Julius and Mary (Potts) Friend. She was married to Carl Davis, and they had four children. Survivors include Carl Davis Jr. & Cathy Catron, Langley, OK, Joyce & Gary Merriman, Langley, OK, Larry & Cynthia Davis, Langley, OK, Rick & Dawn Davis, Owasso, OK. Her grandchildren are Jody Kraus, Litchfield Park, AZ, Kristy & Brent Loney, Ponca City, OK, Shane & Kim Merriman, Hallett, OK, Cody & Libby Merriman, Cleveland, OK, Link & Kristie Davis, Jefferson, GA, Zach & Christy Davis, Bartlesville, OK, Justin & Shelly Davis, Cleveland, OK, Garry & Melissa Davis, Owasso, OK, 20 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers & sisters-in-law, Wallace and Pauline Friend, Lester & Marie Friend.
Mary worked for years as a nurse’s aide in local hospitals. She loved to do hand work and word puzzles as hobbies.
Mary was a long-time member of First Christian Church Cleveland, OK. Grave-side services Woodland Cemetery will be held August 5th, 2021, 11 am with David Logsdon officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Christian Church, Cleveland, OK. Chapman-black Funeral home will be handling the Arrangements.
