Mary Arline Darrow, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home at the age of 76 years, six months and ten days. Arline was born January 9, 1938, in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico. She was the daughter of Virgil William and Ida Leola (Counts) Webb. As a young girl Arline was raised in Tucumcari, New Mexico where she began grade school. She later completed her education at Gruver High School. In the 1960Ãs Arline resided in Union County, New Mexico as well as in the Dallam County, Texas areas. Then in 1970, Arline began working at the Texline School Cafeteria. She also drove a school bus for the school district until 1973. From 1973 till 1977, she accepted a position as the bookkeeper with Occidental Oil. In 1977, Arline moved to Utah and began working for her brother OÃDell. In 1980, Arline returned to Aztec, New Mexico and worked as a bookkeeper for her other brother Orval. In 1982, Arline returned to the Texline, Texas and accepted the position as manager at the local coffee shop. During her time at the coffee shop she met Jerry Darrow. The couple was later united in marriage on April 15, 1987. Following their marriage the couple established their home in Amarillo, Texas. In 1993, Arline and Jerry moved to Corum, Oklahoma. In 2004, Jerry and Arline moved to their current home in Osage where they have continued to reside. Arline loved to crochet, sew and cook. She also loved all kinds of games including canasta, dominoes and also enjoyed playing practical jokes on people. Most of all in life Arline loved the times she was able to spend with her family and friends. Arline also helped Jerry with a huge garden. Survivors are her husband Jerry of the home, six children Calvin Steen of Hawley, Texas, Rebecca Crutchfield of Livingston, Texas, Curtis Steen of Dalhart, Texas, Caroll Steen of Texline, Texas, Jerry Lee Darrow of Hominy, Oklahoma, Debbie Woods of Temple, Texas; three brothers Lee Roy Webb of Mansfield, Texas, Orval Webb of Aztec, New Mexico, O'Dell Webb of Quannah, Texas, four sisters Margaret Oldham of Ft. Sumner, New Mexico, Erma Harkey of Auburn, California, Freda Briscoe of Dallas, Texas, Lynda Archer of Amarillo, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, friends and relatives that will mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Ida Webb, three brothers Olan Webb, Marvin Webb and Loy Ray "Buddy" Webb. Funeral services will be held on 10:30 am, Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
