Mary Anna Moffit, lifelong resident of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home at the age of 78 years, seven months and twenty four days. Mary Ann was born July 13, 1935, in Keystone, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Frances Andrew and Lue Vada (Selvidge) Zickefoose. As a young girl Mary Ann began her education at Keystone. She later moved with her family to California. They all later returned to the Keystone Area where she graduated from Keystone School. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Jack Leonard Moffit on May 21, 1953, in Cleveland, Oklahoma. The couple established their initial home in Cleveland before moving to Sand Springs. Mary Ann and Jack also lived in Sapulpa and on Coyote Trail before returning to Cleveland in 1967. Mary Ann worked at Munsing Wear for several years before her and Jack started a refuse service. Mary Ann mostly worked in the office but was also known to help drive the truck if necessary. Mary Ann and Jack operated the company for many years serving the Cleveland and Lake Area until their retirement. Mary Ann loved to spend her time with her family. She enjoyed going fishing and crocheting items for her family and friends. Some of her favorite foods were watermelon and malts. Mary Ann enjoyed being at home with her children and grandchildren. She always loved working in the garden especially when she could tell someone how to do it. Mary Ann also a former member of the Keystone General Baptist Church for many years. Survivors are her one son Jack Moffit and his wife Cherri of Mannford, Oklahoma; two daughters Brenda Ginn of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Tammy King of Cleveland, Oklahoma; four grandchildren Jasen King and Jenny Gatzke of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Jackie Moffit and his wife Kris of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Nick King of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Jessica Moffit of Mannford, Oklahoma; great grandchildren Corbin and Arianna Gatzke as well as numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Jack Leonard Moffit, two brothers Clifford and Raymond Zickefoose as well as one sister Betty Shaeffer. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, March 10, 2014, at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Jason Langley officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
