Margie Nell Hughes, of Cleveland, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the OSU Medical Center at the age of 68 years and twenty days. Margie was born in Flint, Oklahoma on July 15, 1943; she was the daughter of Virgil and Laura Ann (Keeling) Norris. Margie was raised as a young girl in the Flint area where she began her education. She later moved with her family to Cleveland, Oklahoma in 1954. Margie completed her education at Cleveland. She was united in marriage to Delbert Lee Hughes on June 16, 1959 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. The couple established their initial home in Cleveland where they remained until 1977. Margie and Delbert then moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Following the death of her husband Delbert, Margie returned to Cleveland in 1992 where she has continued to reside. Margie was an individual that loved to be on the go. She loved to get in her truck and just go. Margie loved to watch her soap operaís everyday. Margie was selfless when it came to the elderly. She would often take them to places or whereever they would ask. She received great enjoyment being with family. Margie had always wanted to travel to Disney World in Florida or travel to the West Coast to California. You could always count on Margie asking you to ì pray for me and Iíll pray for you.î Survivors are her two daughters, Barbara Stokes and husband Robert of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Mary Hughes of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two brothers Elwood Norris and his wife May of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Gene Norris and his wife Tella of Cleveland, Oklahoma; one sister Rhonda Simmons and her husband Tom of Mountain View, Arkansas; grandson Cody Hughes granddaughter Vanessa Stokes and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents Margie was preceded in death by her Husband Delbert Lee Hughes, son Bobby Hughes and two infant sisters Masine and Imogene Norris. Chapel services will be held 3:00 pm, Friday, August 5, 2011 in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Head officiating. Private burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
