Margaret Mae Street was born March 18, 1940 in Hominy, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of George Ellis and Rilla Marena Cross. Margaret was raised and attended school in Hominy, obtaining her high school diploma through the GED program.

Upon completion of her education, Margaret was marreid to Leslie Paul Street in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on December 17, 1958. The couple made their initial home in Bartlesville, raising two daughters, Debra and Arletta. Margaret and Leslie spent most of their married life in northeastern Oklahoma in the Bartlesville and Nowata areas. She dedicated her life to taking care of her husband and raising her two daughters. Margaret loved spending time with people which led her to accepting parttime employment as a waitress and convienence store clerk. She mostly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her only grandchild, Christina Nicole Wiley. Margaret was know affectionately by her family as one tough bird.

Margaret was a lifelong member of the family of Jesus Christ, being baptized into the Baptist Church at an early age. She was a member of the Western Heights Baptist Church in Cleveland and loved studying and reading the bible. She also enjoyed reading all types of books and almost any type of hand crafts including, painting, needle work, and crocheting.

The couple to Cleveland in 1989 and Leslie preceded her in death on February 26, 1990. In addition to her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Arletta Thompson.

Margaret passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at the Tulsa Regional Medical Center at the age of sixty-six years, nine months and six days.

She is suvived by her two daughters, Debra Kaiser of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Arletta and her husabnd, Johnny Wiley of Cleveland, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Christina Nicole Wiley of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two brothers, Glayton Ellis Cross of Norfolk, Virginia and Fred Richardson Cross of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two sisters, Vina Louise Cross of Cleveland, Oklahoma and Oleta Francine Morgan of Terlton, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Western Heights Baptist Church with Rev. David Head officiating. Interment will be at the Ramona Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
