Funeral services for M. Louise Owens will be held 10:30 am Friday, January 3, 2014, at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Dan Edens officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Louise was born November 5, 1927, in Shidler, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of B.C. and Eva G. (Dalton) Killingsworth. At the age of three Louise moved with her parents to Jennings, Oklahoma. During her time growing up they also resided in several places throughout Eastern Oklahoma due to her father working in the oil industry. Louise and her family later returned to Jennings where she completed and graduated from Jennings High School. In 1941, Louise moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma. During that time she caught the eye of a young man Cecil Owens. On June 27, 1944, the couple was united in marriage at the First Christian Church in Cleveland. The evening following the wedding Louise and Cecil caught the midnight train to Bartlesville for their honeymoon. They returned to Cleveland and established their home where they remained and raised their daughters until the early 1970Ãs. At that time Cecil was transferred to Wynnewood, Oklahoma where they lived until 1986. In 1986, Cecil retired from Kerr McGee and returned to Cleveland where they have continued to reside. Louise was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a excellent cook and candy maker. During the times her children were growing up she was always their home room mom and baked many treats for all the class parties. Louise and Cecil enjoyed going camping in their travel trailer and spent many days at Birch Lake. They also attended yearly family reunions. Louise has been a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church for many years. Cecil was asked what the secret was to their successful marriage of over 69 years was and his response was two words ìYes dear.î Louise went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at her home in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years, one month and twenty four days. Survivors are her loving husband, Cecil of the home; three daughters Gladys Coleman and her husband Bill of McLoud, Oklahoma, Marsha Bartley and her husband Dickie of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Cecilia Austell and her husband Lonnie of Stillwater, Oklahoma; three sisters Louella Lyman and her husband Dick of Lenexa, Kansas, Janet Sisco and her husband Rick of Ulysses, Kansas, Eva Marie Bonham and her husband Jerry of Manter, Kansas; three brothers Richard Killingsworth and his wife Lois of Newton, Kansas, Donald Ray Killingsworth of Hominy, Oklahoma, Junior Killingsworth and his wife Bobbie of Wathena, Kansas; eleven grandchildren Marvin Lee and his wife Rachel, Rachella Louise, Tim and his wife Kim, Brian and his wife Kelly, Brad and his wife Lisa, Jason Len and his wife Sarah, Jeremy Leigh and his wife Amber, LaReina Gayle and her fiancÈ Will, Crystal RayAnn and Ryan, Courtney Victoria and her husband T.J., Caleb and his wife Kim; twenty one great grandchildren, sixteen great great grandchildren and one great great great granddaughter. In addition to her parents Louise was preceded in death by one brother Roy Killingsworth and daughter Linda Owens.
