Loy Nolan Berryman passed from this life on October 13, 2021, at the age of 81.
Loy was born on October 16, 1939, in Terlton, Oklahoma the son of Dale and Verna (Rogers) Berryman. Loy was raised and received his education in Terlton then later graduating from Tulsa Central High School with of Class of 1957. Following high school Loy joined the United States Army serving time at Ft. Bragg and Iceland. Honorably discharged on September 5, 1960. Loy then returned to the Cleveland area and furthered his education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah graduating with a bachelor's degree in business education. Following his graduation Loy began working for Osage Oil as a credit manager later gaining employment with Bethlehem Steel in Tulsa. On May 27, 1980, in Cleveland, Oklahoma Loy was united in marriage to Esther Clavin. In 1990, Loy accepted a position as a driver's license examiner where he worked until his retirement in 2009.
Loy enjoyed being outdoors helping others and spent many hours hunting and fishing. Loy and Esther also spent many hours going around feeding the fur babies. He also loved having his family over for events, cooking outdoors and taking care of his yard. Watching Sooner football was also something Loy loved to do.
Survivors are his wife Esther of the home, two sons Craig Berryman and wife Leigh of Pensacola, Florida, Brian Berryman and his wife Michele of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; two brothers Duane Berryman and his wife Verla of Moore, Oklahoma, Bob Berryman and his wife Carol of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; sister Sherri Lynn Collins of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; four grandchildren Michael, David, Zachary and Natalie as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Loy was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Lou Flager, brother Jack Berryman, two sisters Yvonne Cox and Kay Fairbanks.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, October 18, 2021, at the Woodland Cemetery with Pastor David Head officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 pm till 6:00 pm with family receiving friends and family from 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Loy at www.chapman-black.com.
