Louise Cox, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014, in Katy, Texas at the age of 75 years, three months and twelve days. Louise was born on October 25, 1938, in Cleveland, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Delbert and Alta Louise (Wagner) Davis. Louise started school in Cleveland later attending school in California as well as Kansas. Louise returned with her family to Cleveland following her freshman year in high school graduating with the Class of 1956. Following graduation Louise worked in downtown Tulsa for several years. On March 8, 1958, at the Frist Baptist Church in Cleveland, Louise was united in marriage to the love of her life Harold Lee Cox. To this union there are two daughters Stacy and Leigh Ann. Louise and Harold established their home in Cleveland where they raised their two children. In the 1970Ãs, Louise worked for Drs. Hanson and Hickerson for several years as well the Rexall Drug. Louise was very active and loved to play golf. Louise and Harold traveled to many places playing golf and vacationing. Louise was a very adamant about taking her granddaughter to JPGA Tournaments for many years. Louise played bridge, bunko and enjoyed crocheting as well as knitting. She made numerous hats for kids as a mission project for the Western Heights Baptist Church where she was a member. Louise was a shopper. She loved shopping for shoes, purses and jewelry. Louise was had a wonderful green thumb and could make any type of plant thrive. Later in life Louise began running and participated in numerous runs throughout Northeastern Oklahoma. Louise had a feisty personality and always enjoyed having the last say on any subject. Her number one priorities in life were her husband Harold, family and especially her grandkids. Survivors are her daughter Leigh Ann and John Smith of Katy, Texas; son in law Brad Weldon of Cleveland, Oklahoma; brothers Robert Davis and his wife Carma of Fulshear, Texas, Eddie Davis and his wife Janie of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Cassie and her husband, Justin Gilbert of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Evan and Hannah Smith, both of Katy, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Blaine Gilbert of Cleveland, Oklahoma. Louise was preceded in death by her parents Delbert and Alta Davis, husband Harold Lee Cox, daughter Stacy Lynn Weldon and sister Helen Davis. Services will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Head officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
