OBITUARY FOR SUSIE M. FLATT-BEAMIS
Lola Mae (Susie) Flatt-Beamis, longtime resident of Jennings, passed from this life to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in Tulsa at the age of 92. Susie was born March 8, 1926 at Altus, Oklahoma to Edward E. and Mabel Fay (Hetzer) Claypool. She was raised in a variety of places until she was 6 years old, when the family moved to Mannford. For the past 52 years, she has made Jennings home. On July 3, 1942 she was united in marriage to Harold W. Flatt and together they owned and operated an auction business for over fifty years. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1993. On March 13, 1998, Susie and Harry Clifford Beamis were married at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He passed away on January 11, 2000. Susie was a longtime member of the Friendship Community Church in Mannford and enjoyed collecting things such as teapots and coffee pots along with other sundry items.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories are her five daughters – Lois Blackburn of Cleveland, Carolyn Johnson and husband Sam of Jennings, Pat Staley of Bartlesville, Cathy Watkins of Jennings and Trina Tatum and husband Steve also of Jennings; a sister – Zola Harvison of Jennings, as well as eleven grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. Susie was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two brothers, two sisters and a step sister.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018, in the sanctuary of the Friendship Community Church, Mannford, with Pastor Delores Terrell officiating. Casket bearers were C.J. Horn, Bradley Crowder, Jeff Johnson, Colton Hewitt, Dustin Burrow and Bo Johnson. Susie will be laid to rest next to her husband Harold Flatt at the Jennings Cemetery, Jennings, Oklahoma following the church services. Arrangements and services were entrusted to the Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
