Linda Sue Litterell, Jennings resident since 1975, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at her home near Jennings on Friday, January 9, 2009 at the age of sixty-two. Linda was born on December 23, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Preacher Hutton and Thomasene (Buhl) Sukow. Linda was raised and attended school in Tulsa, graduating from Tulsa Central High School with the Class of 1965. During her early elementary education, Linda met her childhood friend, James K. Litterell, Jr. and the couple remained sweethearts throughout their junior and senior high school; exchanging wedding vows on April 3, 1965 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. The couple made their initial home in Tulsa and raised two children, Vivian and Kyle, residing in the Sand Springs area prior to moving to Jennings in 1975. Linda dedicated her life to her family; she enjoyed taking care and providing a beautiful home for her husband, children and grandchildren. She was extremely proud of her two grandchildren, Sterling and Shane and liked to play with them like she was one of them. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren as Gamby. Linda enjoyed collecting all types of snowmen and enjoyed playing Santa Claus each year for the family Christmas celebration. She was described by her family as a loving and caring person who always put her family first. She had an infectious and humorous personality that was fun loving and enjoyed being the center of attention. She loved all animals, but especially liked dogs and cats and has a special relationship with her cocker spaniel, Tess. Linda was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Jennings where she sang in music specials and solos. She was also a gifted pianist and organist. In addition to her immediate family, Linda loved her church family and was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ; sharing his love with those around her. She never ended a conversation with her family without telling them how very much she loved them. One of her favorite sayings was, ìIÃm on my way to paradise,î and now through the grace of her Lord and Savior she is in paradise. Linda is survived by her husband of nearly forty-four years, Jim Litterell of Jennings, a son and his wife, Kyle Thomas and Tonya Litterell of Edmond, a daughter, Vivian Sue Litterell of Miami; two grandchildren, Sterling and Shane Litterell, both of Edmond; a brother, Clifford Crabtree of Sand Springs; and a sister, Jenny Shepard of Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her parents.
