Lillie Frances Borrell was born in Marshall, Arkansas July 4, 1915 to Tempy Miranda and Samuel Eillis Ramsey. She was the youngest of six children born to this couple. All preceeded her in death. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 16, 2001 at the 86 years 5 months and 12 days.
Lillie married John Davis in Hominy in 1935. They had three children Johnny Earl ì Jakeî Davis, Billie Ruth Lassek and James Dee ìJimî Davis. They moved to Santa Monica, California in 1939. Lillie worked as a riveter in the shipyards during World War II. Lillie and the children moved back to Cleveland, Oklahoma in 1945. She was known to work as a cook in the cafÈÃs in Cleveland 16 hours a day. She raised her three children by herself.
She married Gaylord Lloyd Borrell in Hominy, Oklahoma in 1956. They moved to Russell, Kansas where ìBlackieî as he was known, worked for the Gulf Oil Company soon after their move Blackie suffered a severe stroke and Lillie became his caregiver until his death in 1980.
Lillie was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Cleveland, Oklahoma and faithfully attended as much as possible. She was also associated with the Happy Sewing Circle.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gaylord Borrell, two brothers William M. and Theodore Ramsey three sisters Leatha Ross, Laura Dennis and Martha Mead, one son Jake Davis one daughter Billie Lassek grandson James Davis granddaughter Christy Finley.
She is survived by one son Jim and wife Joyce Davis of Morrison, Oklahoma; nine grand children Ron Grimes of Morrison, Oklahoma, Dawn Anson of Ralston, Oklahoma, Brandi Davis of Morrison, Oklahoma, Joe Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, John Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada, Cathy Hutchison of Portland, Oregon, Pam Lassek of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Linda Eaton of Jenks, Oklahoma, David Lassek of Boynton Beach Florida, Thirteen Great Grandchildren, two great great grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.
Services will be held December 19, 2001 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Nazarene, officiated by Pastor Larry Keiss and Pastor W.O. Boomer. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to the John 3:16 Mission in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
