Lesslie Wayne Wynn was born September 23, 1962 in Medford, Oregon. He was the son of Roy Burton and Vernetta Mae Wynn. He moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma at an early age with his family where he attended school.
Upon completion of his education, Les began a career in the oilfields of Northeastern Oklahoma. Les was married to Jamie Wilson on October 29, 1979 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. The couple resided in Cleveland for many years and most recently in Tulsa. Les worked in numerous capacities on oil rigs including roughneck and as a driller. He was employed for several years by Spess Oil and then later by Crescent Drilling. After many years in the oilfields, Les attended Tulsa Welding School and began a new career as a welder. He has been employed the past fifteen years as a fabricator building trailers for APE Trailers in Catoosa, 7D Trailers and most recently for Truck Quip in Tulsa. He was working for Truck Quip when he was injured and forced to retire as a result of his injuries.
Les loved to fish and enjoyed hunting prior to his retirement. He spent countless hours restoring and maintaining cars and was an excellent mechanic. His favorite pastime, however, was spending time with his family.
Les passed way on Sunday, May 29, 2005 at his home in Tulsa at the age of forty-two years, eight months and six days. He was preceded in death by his parents;
a son, Robert Lee Wynn; and a grandson, Adam Lee Wynn.
Les is survived by his wife of nearly twenty-six years, Jamesina of the home; four children, Levi Wayne Wynn and his wife, Laura of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Lesslie Burton Wynn and his wife Heather of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Christi Dawn and her husband, Bobby Harton of Owasso; and Joey Allen Wynn of the home; six grandchildren, Cheri Marie Wynn of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Lorelai Grace Wynn of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Taylor Ann Harton of Owasso, Oklahoma, Brandon Lee Wynn of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Trey Dillan Harton of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Rylie Reese Wynn of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three brothers, Kelley Lee Wynn of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Roy Dale Wynn of Claremore, Oklahoma and Kenneth Troy Wynn of Williamsport, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Debbie Jo Mayfield of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Vernetta Lee Box of Claremore, Oklahoma and Brenda Wynn of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 4, 2005 at the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will be at the Brayn Chapel Cemetery in Boatman, Oklahoma at 2:00 pm under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
