BESSIE LAZETA GRAY
Bessie LaZeta Gray passed from this life on August 27, 2020 at the age of 78. She was born on July 5, 1942 in Cleveland, OK, the daughter of Frank William and Ruth Irene (Bough) Eubank. LaZeta was raised and received her education in Cleveland, graduating with the Class of 1960 and being active in Home Ec, Band, FHA and the Pep Club. Following high school, she attended Bethany Nazarene College at Bethany, OK. LaZeta was united in marriage to Jerry Gray on January 25, 1964 at the Cleveland Church of the Nazarene. During her working life, LaZeta worked for Third Finance, Kerr McGee in Cleveland, and Hissom Memorial in Sand Springs before retiring from Indian Electric in 1999. LaZeta was an active member of the Nazarene Church where she taught Sunday school, led the singing for many years and being a member of the 4th of July choir. Besides singing and going with Jerry to his Naval ship reunions, she enjoyed camping with the family and taking the grandkids to various activities. She especially enjoyed going to Branson and eating at the A Q Chicken House in Springdale, Arkansas. As far as community activities, LaZeta worked with Meals on Wheels and Relay for Life.
Survivors include her husband Jerry of the home; daughter Kelly Nichols of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two grandsons Ryen Nichols and his wife Jessica of Cleveland, Oklahoma and Dalton Nichols of Cleveland, Oklahoma, three great grandchildren Elizabeth, Abigail, Gunner. She was preceded in death by her parents and son in law Lonnie Nichols
Services will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 10:30 AM at the Cleveland Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Steve Brown officiating. The family has requested memorial donations be made in honor of Bessie to the Church and to Meals on Wheels. Burial will be held in the Woodland Cemetery at Cleveland, Oklahoma.
