Lavina June Eikenbary Boyd was born on June 18, 1932 in Maramec, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Grover and Edna (Allen) Eikenbary. Lavina was raised in Maramec, Quay and Yale areas; graduating from Yale High School in 1952.
Shortly after graduation from high school, Lavina was married to Elton Boyd in Mulvane, Kansas. The couple made their inital home in Mulvane and later resided in the Oilton, Yale and finally settling in the Jennings area. The couple had five children, Larry, Ronald, William, Anna and an infant daughter who died at birth.
Lavina was a devoted wife and mother. She dedicated her life to taking care of her husband and children, providing for them and their needs as best as possible.
Lavina was a lifelong member of the Church and Christ, accepting Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She attended the Church of Christ in Jennings for many years until the church building was destroyed. She enjoyed living in the country being on the farm where she loved her cats and dogs and other barnyard animals. She also enjoyed flower gardening.
Lavina passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at her home in Jennings at the age of seventy-six. Lavina was preceded in death by her husband, Elton on October 3, 2003. In addition to her husband and infant daughter, Lavina was preceded in death by her parents a grandson, a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Chaplain Joe Anglin officiating. A private family committal service will follow at the Bethany Cemetery in Hallett, Oklahoma under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
