Larry was born January 26, 1949, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was the son of Ralph Raymond and Ottye Mae (Paslay)) Davis. Larry began school in Hot Springs and later moved to Springfield, Missouri where he completed his education. On February 19, 1972, Larry was united in marriage to Janice Sue Mongar at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Missouri. Following their marriage the couple resided in Springfield where Larry was employed as a carpenter. In 1984, Larry and Janice moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Larry worked at several different places and then accepted employment at Dream Real Estate where he worked as an apartment manager and maintenance man. Then in 2001, Larry and Janice moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma where they were the managers of the Cedar Creek Apartments. The two operated the apartments until October of 2014.
Larry enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and spending time with his family that he dearly loved. He also had a talent for wood working and loved being outdoors, along with his “Mr. Fix It” ability to fix anything he laid his hands on. He also had a wicked sense humor. Larry enjoyed his time watching television when he could. Larry had just recently begun playing golf.
Larry Wayne Davis of Cleveland, Oklahoma departed from his life unexpectedly on Saturday, January 24th, 2015 at the age of 65.
Larry is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 42 years Jancie Davis. Along with their three children and their families, Karlie and Chris Hagar of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jamie and Randy Brown of Catoosa, Oklahoma; Kyle Davis and Blayne McGuire of Terlton; two sisters, Gwen Pierce of Topeka, Kansas; Linda Canady of Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Tyler and Madison of Owasso, Oklahoma; Audrie of Tulsa, Oklahoma; childhood friend and brother-in-law Ken Mongar and his family; as well as countless friends he made while managing the Cedar Creek Apartments with this wife for 13 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 1, 2015, at the Western Heights Baptist Church with Pastor David Head officiating. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him unconditionally. In lieu of flowers donations would be greatly appreciated. Please contact American Heritage Bank.
