Kevin Wayne Pinkerton passed away on November 22, 2024, at the age of 60 in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
Kevin was born on February 18, 1964, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the son of Wayne E. Pinkerton and Letha Dean (Richardson) Pinkerton. Kevin grew up and attended school in Hominy, later graduating from Prue High School with the Class of 1982. Following high school, Kevin began working in Sand Springs at Loveless Manufacturing and later learned the trade of masonry. On June 8, 1984, Kevin was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Maleesa "Missy" Braden, in Prue, Oklahoma. The couple initially made their home in Prue but later moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma, where they have continued to reside. In September of 1985, Kevin began working at Dick Conners Correctional Facility in Hominy. He worked his way up through the system, retiring on Nov. 30, 2014, and was a Unit Manager.
Kevin always loved being with his family and being outdoors on his farm. During the time Adam and Cody were growing up, he played a significant role in helping coach. He was an avid Steelers and Hominy Buck Fan. The vacation to Tennessee was a memorable event since Kevin's vacations usually consisted of staying at home on the farm. A couple of his favorite places to eat were Whataburger and Kentucky Fried Chicken, and he always loved to have ice-cold Pepsi and candy. Later in life, Kevin found out that grandchildren are especially "Grand." His Chicky Chicky, Punkin, and Logie were the light of his life.
Survivors are his wife, Maleesa "Missy"; two sons, Adam Pinkerton and his wife Nicole of Oilton, Oklahoma, and Cody Pinkerton and his wife Brittany of Skiatook, Oklahoma; siblings Kennard Bales, Debbie Pinkerton, Cheri Flud, and Lisa Pinkerton; three grandchildren, Hadlee, Braden, and Logan; and a host of other relatives and friends. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Pinkerton and Letha Dean Pinkerton, and stepmother, Alma Pinkerton.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Hominy, with Kendall Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery at Hominy, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will handle the arrangements.
