Kenneth Ruben Green, longtime Cleveland Manor Nursing Home resident, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the age of eighty-two. Kenneth, also known as Kenny, was born January 14, 1929 in rural Pawnee County, near Keystone; he was the son of Wheeler William and Edith (McDaniel) Green. Kenneth was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as a child and was given little chance of surviving past the age of twenty. He was always happy and brightened the day for those who knew him and were fortunate enough to spend time with him. Although he resided at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home for over thirty years, Kenny was always the life of the party and enjoyed each and every event in the nursing home. He especially enjoyed Halloween and Christmas. He was a avid University of Oklahoma Sooner fan and was voted King Kenny during a Valentine celebration. He loved animals and especially liked when pet therapy dogs where brought to the nursing home. He will be remembered not only by the staff and residents of Cleveland Manor but the entire Cleveland community. Kenny is survived by a niece and her husband, Linda and Wesley Adams of Barnsdall, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Opelene Pearl Green and Effie May Green; and four brothers, Woodrow Wilson Green, Jack Amos Green, Franklin N. Green and J. B. Francis Green. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Rev. David Head officiating. Burial will be at the Sinnett Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
