Kenneth Eugene Norton

Kenneth Eugene Norton known to his friends and family as Kenny, was born October 8, 1949 in Yale, Oklahoma the youngest son of Kenneth and Pearl Norton.'  As a young man Kenny grew up and received his education in the Cleveland area. ' He was a member of the Cleveland High School graduating Class of 1968.'  After graduation Kenny began working on the pipeline as a heavy equipment operator.'  On March 20, 1972, Kenny was united in marriage to Carol Ann Ingle in Cleveland, Oklahoma.'  After the couple was united in marriage he continued working on the pipeline and later accepted employment for Curt Brown Drilling as a truck driver and finally as a roustabout foreman. He continued working for the Brownís for many years until the company sold, and then he accepted employment with the State of Oklahoma as a correctional officer at Dick Connerís Correctional Center in Hominy.'  After several years Kenny returned to pipeline construction, and began operating heavy equipment once again.' ' In 2002,' while working in Arizona,' he sustained an injury which forced him into retirement. '  '  Kenny passed away on Monday, June 15, 2009' at the age of 59.'  In addition to his parents Kenny was preceded in death by two sisters Kay Lucas and Karen Williams. '  Survivors include his wife, Carol, son Chris Norton and family of Cushing, Oklahoma, daughter Dee Lawrence' and family of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, son Ben Norton of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, brother Riley Norton' of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and one granddaughter. '  Graveside services will be held 10:30 am, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 in the Osage Cemetery with Rev. Willis Morgan officiating. ' ' Burial will be under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
