Keith Alan Pierce, 44, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Veterans Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Keith was born October 15, 1963, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma the son of Dale and Ina Jo (Lambert) Pierce. As a young man Keith began his education in Pawhuska. The family later moved to Cabbot, Arkansas then to Chandler, Oklahoma where he completed the majority of his education. Keith then finished his final year of high school in Stillwater where he was a graduate with the Class of 1982. Keith furthered his education attending Vo Tech in Stillwater learning the trade as a carpenter. On November 4, 1986, Keith entered into the service of his country in the U.S. Navy. Upon entering the military Keith was stationed at San Diego, California. After the completion of his basic training Keith was transferred to Gulf Port, Mississippi where he completed the remainder of his career. During his time in the Navy Keith was a part of the U.S. Naval Construction Force better known as the "Seabees". Keith traveled to many locations all over the world constructing and building sites that are in use today protecting our freedom. Upon his discharge on March 5, 1996, Keith began working with his father in the oil and gas industry as a land man. His duties included obtaining permission to drill or construct a pipeline on a given piece of property.
Keith enjoyed spending his spare time fishing either in the ocean or just any place that he was able to wet his line. He was also a giving person even back in his younger days; Keith would often bring his friends to the restaurant to give them a free burger and drink. Keith was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Stillwater where he gave his life to the Lord as a teenager.
Survivors include his daughter Jackie Pierce of Long Beach, Mississippi, father Dale Pierce of Granbury, Texas, sister Natalie Kay Jefferson of Granbury, Texas as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Jo Pierce.
Graveside Services will be held 10:30 am Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery with Mary Sue Milligan officiating. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
