Kay Rogers

Elberta Kay Rogers, 77, of Jennings, Oklahoma, passed from this life on November 4, 2020, at her home in Jennings.
Kay was born on June 28, 1943, in Avery, Oklahoma, the daughter of Vernon Elbert and Florence Lorene (Burden) Harmon.  Kay was raised in Avery and later moved with her family to Tulsa, Oklahoma.  During that school time Kay, attended school in Tulsa.  Kay was a member of the first graduating class from McClain High School.  Following high school, Kay began working at a local insurance agency.  On March 29, 1963, Kay was united in marriage to James Elmer Rogers.  The two established their home in Tulsa and, in 1979, moved their family to Jennings, Oklahoma, where they have continued to reside.
Kay enjoyed being a homemaker, a mother to her children, and a wife to her husband.  Kay also enjoyed making crafts and cooking.  She loved for her family to be together during the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays.  Kay would spend countless hours preparing food and desserts for her family, making sure their favorite dish was there.  She also took time quilting and making porcelain dolls.  She would start them from scratch, pouring them, placing them in the kiln, and later painting them.  Kay also took the time to make their clothing and put them together for those she loved to enjoy.  Kay liked to search for her ancestry, always thinking that it would be beneficial for her family to know their kin.  She had three flights in her life, two to get her ready for the third one which was Hawaii. Kay and Jim took a lifelong planned trip to Hawaii on their 50th Anniversary.  Kay had a very dry sense of humor and absolutely loved being around children.  Kay has been described as the mother of all mothers because she loved each and every minute of being a wonderful mother.

Survivors include her husband Jim of the home; three children Cindy Kendrick of Houston, Texas, Christina Begley of Oilton, Oklahoma, and Michael Rogers of Jennings, Oklahoma; two siblings Shirley Davis of Avery, Oklahoma, and Gary Don Harmon of Avery, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.  In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her brother Robert Dale Harmon.
