Services for Kathy Adrean, 68, of Osage, Oklahoma will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday April 11, 2018, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Rev. David Head officiating. Interment of the cremated remains will be in the Osage Cemetery at a later date. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com. Chapman-Black Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Kathryn Janneice Adrean, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018, at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Kathy was born June 15, 1949, in Aurora, Missouri. She is the daughter of Dave Albert and Immogene Elizabeth (McCann) Herd. Kathy moved with her family to Hominy at a young age where she began attending school later graduating from Hominy High School with the Class of 1967. On August 21, 1968, Kathy was united in marriage to William Dee Arean, Sr. The couple established their home in West Tulsa where they raised their two sons Billy and Ritchie. During the time in Tulsa, Kathy opened up a Freda and Kathy’s Bakery with her best friend and neighbor Freda. It was located in the Carbondale Area of Tulsa for several years. Kathy later gained employment with Oklahoma Blue Cross and Blue Shield; she worked there for over 20 years when she retired. During her time there she made numerous friends and they all continued to be a part of her life following retirement. In 2012, Kathy and Bill moved to Osage where she has continued to reside.
Kathy loved spending time going to Van Buren searching for the diamond in the rough antique. She also loved to cook and calling Freda to meet her at the fence to try what she had made. Kathy loved the holidays especially Thanksgiving because that allowed to cook everyone’s favorite dish. Kathy loved to tell stories and enjoyed doing arts and crafts as well.
Survivors are one son William D. Adrean, Jr and his wife Stephanie of Heavener, Oklahoma; two brothers Jess Herd of Mounds, Oklahoma, David Herd in Branson, Missouri, sister in law Janie Adrean of Osage, Oklahoma; six grandchildren Dawson, Luke, Nathan, Paige, Trevor and Travis and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents Kathy was preceded in death by her husband William Dee Adrean, Sr. and a son Richard Lee Adrean.
