Karen Ann Gray, lifelong Cleveland area resident, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2002 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, at the age of fifty-seven years, eleven months and twenty-eight days.
Karen was born March 16, 1944 in Osage, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Jaybee Thomas and Lillie Lorraine Cochran. Karen was raised and attended school in Cleveland, graduating from Cleveland High School in 1963.
Karen was married to Thomas M. Gray on March 7, 1964 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. The couple had two daughters, Pam and Jessica. They made their home in Cleveland and Osage during their thirty-eight years of marriage. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. She devoted her life to taking care of her family to the best of her abilities. Karen loved to travel and could usually be found in their truck, together with her husband Tom, giving him a hard time and telling him what he needed to get done. She also enjoyed all types of craft work including, sewing, ceramics and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Gray, of the home; daughters, Pam Reynolds, Cleveland, Oklahoma, Jessica and Pat Bates, grandson, Gene Reynolds III, Cleveland, Oklahoma; three step grandchildren, Rachelle Bates, Wynona, Oklahoma, Roxanne Bates, Hominy, Oklahoma and Sheach Bates, Hominy, Oklahoma; and a sister, Brenda Sue Clark, Cleveland, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, March 18, 2002 at the First Assembly of God Church in Cleveland with Pastor Dan Edens officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
