June M Bell passed from this life on July 24, 2019 at the age of 95 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
June was born on June 8, 1924, in Terlton, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Fred and Rachel Potts. June grew up in Terlton where she attended school and graduated as class valedictorian. Following her education, June was united in marriage to William F. Bell on July 11, 1942. The couple later established their home in Wichita, Kansas. June had been attending Crossroads Baptist Church for the past several years.
June became a Christian in her 30’s and devoted her life to biblical education. She would turn ordinary conversations in a Bible lesson. Growing up in the Great Depression, she learned to be very frugal, and was quite the engineer with duct tape. June was a supporter of Child Evangelism Fellowship and taught for many years at Camp Quaker Haven in Arkansas City, Kansas. June traveled when possible and her favorite places to visit were the Holy Land and Europe. She would often talk about the time spent in Jerusalem. But her absolute favorite destination was she traveled to be with her sister and lifelong best friend, Peggy Prickett. Separated in age by one year, they have been devoted to each other since childhood.
Survivors include four children Carol Hammel and her husband Gary of Wichita, Kansas, Don Bell and his wife Shelly of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Eric Bell of Wichita, Kansas, David Bell of New Orleans, Louisiana; three siblings Peggy Prickett of Perry, Oklahoma, Jerry Potts of Perkins, Oklahoma, Betsy Muro of Joplin, Missouri, twelve grandchildren Sheryl, Amy, Katy, Bridgette, Jaymee, Robbie, Nancy, Juliana, Matt, Ben, Collin, Evan; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Bill Bell, siblings Gene Potts, Paul Potts, Roy Potts, Bill Potts, Mary Staton, Annabelle Baker, one granddaughter Rachael and a daughter-in-law Jean Bell.
