June Ann Diem passed from this life peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2011 in Morrison, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years eleven months and one day. June was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 16, 1943. She was the daughter of Edward and Manieta Bernice (Gabriel) Harvey. As a young girl June was raised in Philadelphia and later graduated from Roxborough High School. Following high school June accepted employment with Excide Battery. She later began working for Cities Services Oil. In June of 1972, she was transferred to Tulsa and her and John made their home in Prattville. On November 14, 1973, June was united in marriage to John Mohn Diem in Tulsa, Oklahoma. June continued to work for Cities Services until 1975. In the Spring of 1979, she and John moved to Terlton, Oklahoma where she has continued to reside until this Summer when the fires took her home. June has been a caretaker of many years. She has worked for Cimarron Pointe Care Center for six years and was a Sojourn Care nurse for over 14 years and truly loved the work of helping people. Following the fire June moved to Morrison with her son James and his wife Jennifer where she has continued to reside. June loved to fishing, gardening and playing with her two granddaughters. June was very passionate and believed that Jesus is the son of God and was her Lord and Saviour. June was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Cleveland. Survivors are her two children James and Jennifer Diem of Morrison, Oklahoma, Jennifer and Bobby Parrick of Bristow, Oklahoma; one brother Edward Harvey Phillips, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, three sisters Ruth Chestnut of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Cheryl Chestnut of Delaware, Maryland, Joann Kitzmen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Mohn Diem and a brother Donald Chestnut. Church services will be held 10:00 am Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Danny Edens officiating. Burial will be held private in the Terlton Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
