Judith Ann O'Brien passed from this life on April 1, 2021, at the age of 74 in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
Judy was born on August 1, 1946, at Parsons, Kansas; the daughter of Clyve and Jewel (Longshore) Pope. Judy grew up in Madison, Kansas where she received her education. She raised her five children in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Emporia, Kansas and Booker, Texas. On September 30, 1969, Judy was united in marriage to Edwin Ralph O'Brien. Judy and Eddie remained in Booker from 1972 till 1987 when they moved to Ada, Oklahoma. In 2005, Judy and Eddie moved to Mannford and in 2012 they moved to Cleveland where she has continued to reside.
Judy enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening and cooking. She would spend many hours making dolls, afghans and heirloom dresses for her grandkids as well as other crafts. Judy and Eddie grew large gardens and canned the vegetables from their crops.
Survivors include five children Teressa Engle of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Deanna Ragle and her husband Billy of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Allan McGee of Ada, Oklahoma, Dawn Cano of Harlingen, Texas, Ed O'Brien and his wife Rena of Rowlett, Texas; two brothers Clyve Laverne Pope of Pittsburgh, Kansas, James Ray Pope of Gillette, Wyoming, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents Clyve Alman Pope, Jewel Mary Brown, Judy was preceded in death by her husband Edwin O'Brien and a sister Kathy Leona Whisenhunt.
A memorial service will be April 15, 2021 at 10:00am at Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Oklahoma. You may share a memory at www.chapman-black.com.
