Joy Ann Mode

Joy Ann Mode, 80, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at her home in Terlton, Oklahoma.

Joy was born on February 6, 1938, in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Mary Ann (Vulgamore) Emde. As a young girl Joy grew up in Seminole; later graduating from Pleasant Grove High School with the Class of 1956. Joy remained in Seminole and was united in marriage on June 7, 1958, to Randall Mode. During her marriage Joy worked as a waitress at Pats Café and the Blue Bell/Wrangler Café for many years. She also babysit for many as well. Joy moved to Terlton in 2003, to be closer to her daughter and son in law where she has continued to reside.

Joy enjoyed going. It did not make any difference where she went she just like being on the go. She always looked forward to going to Walmart or grocery shopping because she liked to be on the move. Joy was very opinionated about things as well as going to play bingo. She also was a supporter of the Shout For America, Inc. in Mannford, Oklahoma; the North 48 Fire Department and the Cleveland Fire Department.

Survivors are daughter Lois Babcock and her husband Stephen of Terlton, Oklahoma, eleven grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, husband Randall Mode, three children Linda Ann Mode, Bobbie Ruth Oxnam, Fred L. Mode, and a great-grandson William.

Graveside services will be 2:30 PM Monday, August 27, 2018, at the Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Willis Morgan officiating. Pallbearers will be the North 48 Fire Department and the Cleveland Fire Department. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com.
