Jospehine ''Rose'' Rosalia Adams

Josephine Rosalia Adams also known as Rose, was born June 22, 1930 in Liebenthal, Kansas to Joseph and Emma (Unrein) Legleiter. Rose was raised and received her education in Liebenthal, Kansas. As a young lady Rose started to wait tables in the local restraint in Liebenthal. She later moved to Russell, Kansas where she met Alvin Wayne Richmond. Rose and Wayne were united in marriage in Tucumcari, New Mexico on April 20, 1953. Rose and Wayne made their home in Russell, Kansas after their marriage living in a one room garage apartment. They later moved to Ada, Oklahoma. In the late 1950ís Rose and Wayne moved to Wynona and then soon after in the early 1960ís they moved to the farm north of Jennings. While living in Jennings they opened up the Jennings Laundry Mat. In 1975 Rose and Wayne resided in Hominy; in 1990 they moved back to Jennings. Rose worked at many of the local diners in Hominy, Jennings, Yale and at the Hickory House in Cleveland. On June 4, 1994 she was united in marriage to Wayne Adams in Las Vegas, Nevada. They returned to make their home in Yale where Rose has lived since. She loved to watch and feed her Humming Birds, playing bingo, being with her children and grandchildren and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jennings. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Alvin Wayne Richmond on November 3, 1990; three sisters Helen, an infant sister Mildred as well as another sister Mildred; two brothers Alois and Jerome

Rose passed away September 29, 2002 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years 3 months and 7 days.

Rose is survived by her husband, Wayne Adams, of the home; children, Brenda Kay and her husband Harold Smith of Yukon, Oklahoma; Terry Wayne Richmond of Jennings, Oklahoma; brothers Carl Legleiter of McCracken, Kansas; Joe ''Junior'' Legleiter of Dodge City, Kansas; Kenny Legleiter of Arkansas City, Kansas; brother-in-law Garold Skillett of Rush Center, Kansas; sister-in-law Barbara Ashlock of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Doris Richmond of Seminole, Oklahoma; six grandchildren Amber Dunham of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Amanda McCauley of New Castle, Oklahoma; Jared Smith of Yukon, Oklahoma; Jennifer Richmond of Jennings, Oklahoma; Charles Richmond of Jennings, Oklahoma; Mary Jo Richmond of Jennings, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren Kristen and Kaycee Dunham and Madisyn McCauley, step children Leo and his wife Linda Adams of Enid, Oklahoma; Shirley and her husband Terry Darling of Yale, Oklahoma; Vickie and her husband Terry Baker of Yale, Oklahoma; Deanna and her husband Craig Stutterfield of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; six step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in Yale, Oklahoma with services officiated by Rev. Steve Lopp. Burial will be at Jennings Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
