John Harvey West

John Harvey West passed from this life on October 28, 2022, at the age of 51, in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

John was born on April 14, 1971, in Poteau, Oklahoma, the son of James and Linda (Bethell) West. John started school in Cleveland, later graduating with the Class of 1990. John attended Vo-Tech in Drumright, learning the trade of motorcycle repair. Soon after high school, on July 28, 1990, John was united in marriage to Tammy Sue Reynolds. They established their home in Tulsa, and he accepted a position with Affiliated Foods as a forklift driver. John returned to Vo-Tech and obtained his Commercial driver's License. Following graduation, John worked as a truck driver for many companies, including Air Gas and Sunoco. John was forced to change career paths due to medical issues, and he returned to college at Tulsa Community College, obtaining his associate degree in electronic technology. After graduating, he began working at various companies and was lastly employed at Thermal Specialties in Tulsa.

John enjoyed being outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. John was always one to tell you a joke and make others laugh. His grandson was his pride and joy.

Survivors are his two sons, Josh West and his wife Lindsay of Skiatook, Oklahoma; Justin West and his wife Sydney of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two sisters Sarah West of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Brandi Pennington of Oologah, Oklahoma and a grandson, Aris and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy West, and a nephew Kylar Brady.

Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, November 14, 2022, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home, with Bill Wax officiating. Burial will be held in the Summerfield Cemetery at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 15, 2022, with Tracy Lloyd speaking. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
