John Fredrick Ott

John Fredrick Ott passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at his home in Terlton, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years and fourteen days. John was born March 23, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of Frederick and Esther S. (Schelp) Ott. John attended school in Kansas City and later graduated from Southwest High School with the Class of 1971. Following graduation John worked for a local convenience store affiliated with Phillips 66 working there until 1984. At that time John moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was later united in marriage to Laverne and the couple established their home in Tulsa. John accepted employment with Melís Motor Medics and continued working for them until 2008. On May 19, 2001, John was united in marriage to Heika Hamacher. John and Heika later moved to Terlton where they currently reside. John later accepted employment with Wal-Mart in Cushing, Oklahoma in the Tire Lube and Express since the opening of the new store where he was currently employed. John loved motorcycles. He had previously purchased a Harley Davidson which he rode for many years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing as well as any outdoor activity. He was a hard worker and especially loved his Maltese ìTuckerî. John also had a big heart especially when it came to Heika. Survivors are his wife Heike of the home, one daughter Mandy Ott of Paola, Kansas, father Frederick L. Ott of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters Crystal Murph of Harrisonville, Missouri; Caroline Graham of Lee's Summit, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his mother Esther S. Ott nee (Schelp) and wife Laverne Ott in 1995. Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Escape Ministries Auditorium with Pastor Bob Thompson officiating. Services and cremation of the body were under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested the donations be made to Escape Ministries in memory of John.
