John Byron Moore was born January 12, 1973 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. He was the son of John Richard and Virginia Mae (Selvey) Moore. John moved with his family at the age of four to Cleveland where he was raised and attended school, graduating from Cleveland High School in 1991. While attending Cleveland schools, John was active in all in sports until his freshman year. Upon graduation with honors from high school, John attended University of Oklahoma for two years on an academic scholarship. Responsibilities of fatherhood necessitated JohnÃs entrance into the workforce and he began a seventeen year career as a carpenter, metal framing and drywall specialist. He worked for numerous contractors and companies during his career, most recently for Mid-West Drywall and has been installing ceilings for the past couple of years. He previously worked extensively on the First Christian Church of Cleveland remodel project. As a youth, John attended church at the First Assembly of God Church in Cleveland and most recently had been attending the Word of Life Church in Sand Springs. He was described by his family as a quiet man with a keen sense of humor. He was generous in that he would do anything for anybody as well as being loyal and loving. He was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for his family; his specialty being biscuits and gravy. This past year he prepared the entire Thanksgiving dinner for his family and was looking forward to doing the same this Thanksgiving. He has been a fisherman his entire life and dreamed of being a professional fisherman. He especially liked fishing for crappie. He also enjoyed hunting. He was avid University of Oklahoma Sooner Football fan and was also a Dallas Cowboy fan. His musical preference was rather eclectic, enjoying all types of country and rock and roll music. John passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010 at his in Sand Springs, Oklahoma at the age of thirty-seven. He was preceded in death by his father, John Richard Moore. He is survived by his mother and her husband, Virginia M. and Ernie Lee Davidson of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three sons, Kaleb Moore, Jacob Moore, and Dustin Moore of the home; a daughter, Mackenzie Moore of Bolivar, Missouri; two sisters, Shannon and her husband, Tim Rigsby of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Jerri Murders of Bolivar, Missouri; brother, Eric and his wife, Stacy Davidson of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; a sister, Tiffany and her husband, John Cornwell of Duncan, Oklahoma; nephews and nieces, Sean Rigsby, Jospeh and Courtnie Rigsby, Josuha and Amanda Murders, Kendall, Addie and Gracie Murders, Brighton and Kingston Davidson and Curtis Cornwell; numeous other relative and friends that mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 5, 2010 at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Dan Edens officiating. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home or online at www.chapman-black.com. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland.
