Joe Russell Edgerton passed from this life on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the St. John Medical Center at the age 40 years, one month and thirty days. Joe was born August 6, 1972, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of Gary Russell and Sandra Rae (Bohannan) Edgerton. Joe began attending the First Christian Church Preschool and continued his education at Cleveland Public Schools. Joe was active in little league baseball as well as Bobcat football for many years. He also participated in football for the Cleveland Tigers throughout his school years. Joe later graduated from Cleveland High School with the Class of 1990. He and his buddies Ebb Moton, Bill Scavezee were given the name ìThe Three Amigosî because they were almost inseparable. Joe went on to further his education at Oklahoma State University. He was later united in marriage to Jennifer Denise Perkins on October 27, 1990, in Cleveland, Oklahoma. The two established their initial home in Enid and later moved to Cleveland for a short time. Joe gained employment with the Super H in Cleveland as the assistant manager and later accepted employment with Webco in 1993. Joe and Jennifer soon moved to Tulsa where they have continued to reside and raise their three children Jacob, John and Joel. Joe has continued to work at Webco where he has been employed for the last 19 years. Joe was an avid University of Oklahoma and Dallas Cowboy fan. He was also a fan of NASCAR. Joe loved to cook and could cook up a mean batch of cinnamon rolls and meat balls. He would search the internet tirelessly and would always find a very labor intense recipe which he would follow precisely. Joe also took his family to tour the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas which he really enjoyed. Most of all Joe loved to watch his kids play sports and was a very big supporter of their activities. Survivors are his wife, Jennifer Edgerton of the home, three sons, Jacob Edgerton, HNSN US Navy of Camp Lejune, North Carolina, John Edgerton and Joel Edgerton both of the home, parents, Gary and Sandra Edgerton of Cleveland, Oklahoma, paternal grandmother Donna Edgerton of Cleveland, Oklahoma, maternal grandmother Delores Bohannan of Cleveland, Oklahoma, brother Mike Edgerton and his wife Ashley of Jenks, Oklahoma, sister Renee Hussey and her husband Sean of Owasso, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather John Edgerton and maternal grandfather Cal Bohannan. Church Services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Edens officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
