Memorial services for Joe Anna Marie Pankratz, 77 of Cleveland, Oklahoma, will be on Friday 2:00 pm at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Head officiating. Joe Anna was born August 11, 1933, in Anadarko, Oklahoma; she is the daughter of Iva Lee Saxon and Jess Williams. As a young child Joe Anna was adopted by Lilla B. King and Joseph Knox King. As a young girl Joe Anna was raised in Joplin, Missouri where she completed her education and, on September 23, 1950, was united in marriage with Earl Gust Pankratz. Following their marriage the couple moved to Ponca City. After many years in Ponca City; Joe Anna and Earl moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma in 1970 where she has continued to reside until her death. During her time in Cleveland, Oklahoma, Joe Anna was well known for her exuberant attitude at Browne's Doughnut Shop where she worked for many years. Joe Anna loved just sitting on the banks of the river with her husband and kids camping and fishing. For many years she loved baby sitting kids whom she loved dearly, each holding a place in her heart. Joe Anna loved playing the piano and the organ which she did for many years as well as playing bingo at the VFW. One thing Joe Anna always wanted her family and friends to know is that she loved each and every one of them. Joe Anna had a special place in her heart for animals. She rescued numerous dogs and cats always making sure they had a warm and safe place to stay, having them end up more as family members than animals. One thing in life that Joe Anna was most proud of was her family and children, having the utmost pride in taking care of them to the best of her abilities. Survivors include her children Anna Earline Shorey, Michael Earl Pankratz, Alan LeeRoy Pankratz; three grandchildren Dusty Marie Pankratz, Michael Bradley Shorey, Troy Michael Pankratz; one great grandson Gunner Michael Pankratz as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl Pankratz and one sister Mary Ellen Sullins.
