Joann Patricia Small

JoAnn Patricia Small was born on February 10, 1948, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Joe and Lucille Margaret (Henson) Blower. As a young girl JoAnn grew up in Bartlesville, Oilton and Sand Springs. JoAnn later moved to Bartlesville where she later graduated from high school with the Class of 1966. Following high school JoAnn was united in marriage to Albert Butcher. Following their marriage the couple resided in Sperry and Collinsville before moving to Cleveland in 1969. JoAnn remained in Cleveland and was later united in marriage to Lawrence Small on August 28, 1986. They soon moved to Sanford, Maine before returning to Cleveland for a short time. JoAnn and Lawrence later moved to Memphis, Tennessee where they remained until 2004. At that time the couple returned to Cleveland, Oklahoma. During the time JoAnn was living in Cleveland she worked at Gatesway as well as the Baptist Village as a home health care worker.

JoAnn enjoyed playing cards, Yahtzee, bingo or any other types of games. JoAnn had a special place in her heart for those she helped during her time as a health care worker. She also enjoyed music especially the older style of country music. JoAnn was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved everyone. Most importantly, JoAnn knew that Jesus Christ was her Lord and Saviour.

JoAnn passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years old.

Survivors are her husband Lawrence of the home, two sons Albert Butcher of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Pete Small of Cleveland, Oklahoma; step daughter Renee Randall of Terlton, Oklahoma; three siblings Barbara Thrill of Plano, Illinois, Peggy Trudeau of Marshall, Illinois, June Butcher of Cleveland, Oklahoma; five grandchildren Coty McKinney, Aubrey Morgan, Victoria Mack, Tyler Butcher, Colton Butcher; six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. In addition to her parents JoAnn was preceded in death by her daughter Dana McKinney, four siblings Ray Miller, Jerry Blower, Shirley Wann, Mary Dell Armstrong and a granddaughter Brittany Renee Butcher.

Chapel services for JoAnn Small of Cleveland, Oklahoma will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Head officiating. Following the services, the body will be cremated under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends and family may share a memory on JoAnn’s memorial page at www.chapman-black.com.
